Maple Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

I love oatmeal all year round but there is something just a little extra special about it when it’s freezing cold and snowing outside. I like to make this for my son when we just need something really healthy and fast for breakfast. It really takes only about five minutes, and it’s just so comforting. Pour a large cup of coffee and snuggle up with a big warm bowl!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 apple ( I love McIntosh) small dice
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. pure maple syrup

Directions

In a small sauce pan add in the oats and 2 cups of water along with the apples, cinnamon and maple syrup. Cook on medium low heat stirring constantly until it thickens and the water is absorbed. Spoon into your favorite bowl and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon and a nice drizzle of syrup on top! Enjoy!!
