Herbed Turkey Sliders
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 2 tbsp. fresh herbs chopped (I use parsley and basil in here)
- 2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, cored, seeded, sliced
- 4-6 fresh basil leaves
- white cheddar cheese, sliced
- 4 Ciabatta buns
Directions
In a large bowl combine the herbs, salt and pepper together. Mix in the ground turkey with your hands; it’s the chef’s best tools 😉 and the best way to get everything mixed together. Portion into about 4 patties. Roll into the palm of your hand and flatten out into a burger. Set aside.
On a hot grill pan with a little drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, grill the burgers for about 8-10 minutes, flipping half way through. In the last minute, top with a slice of the white cheddar so it melts a little.
Slice the buns in half, and in a fry pan or the grill pan. toast the buns just to brown the edges. Then, I like to take a garlic clove, cut it in half and rub it on the bread. 😉
For Garlic Aioli:
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
Directions
Mix both together in a small bowl. If you’re like me and can’t get enough garlic, I put a little of this garlic aioli on there too. Quite delightful.
Time to assemble the burgers. Place a little bit of the aioli on bottom bun then top with roasted red pepper, basil leaf and the burger. Top with the other bun, and enjoy with those awesome Sweet potato and Yam fries.
