Classic Turkey Burgers
This is the classic burger made healthier with turkey instead of beef. I promise you, you won’t miss the beef! The spicy homemade pickles give a little extra kick to this burger with their crisp, spicy dill flavor. You can top it with whatever you want but I like to keep it simple starting with the best ingredients I can get.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 4 hamburger buns (I use brioche, but use the best you can find)
- Handful of greens, pick your favorite
- Cheese, (I love good aged cheddar)
- Spicy Homemade Pickles
Garlic Aioli
Ingredients
- ¼ cup mayo
- 1 tbsp. fresh garlic, minced
- Season with salt and black pepper
Mix both together in a small bowl, set aside
Directions
Start by portioning your ground turkey into four. Roll each portion into your hand to form a patty about the size of your palm. Season patties with salt and black pepper on both sides. On a hot grill or grill pan drizzle a little bit of olive oil and grill the burgers about 5-6 minutes on each side. Make sure to flip only once to create those nice grill marks on the burger. The burger should reach 165 degrees when done. For the last-minute melt your cheese on the burger. Toast the bun if you would like a little added crunch as well.
Time to assemble; start with the garlic aioli on the bottom, top with greens, burger, and homemade pickles. Serve immediately with your chose of sides!
