Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Classics are sometimes always the best, aren’t they?! These are some of the first cookies I learned to bake when I was a kid and they have been around ever since. Santa would definitely approve! Put a plate of these out on Christmas Eve and watch them magically disappear! Warm, straight out of the oven with a cold glass of milk. There really is nothing better! Let’s be honest, the dough is also great right out of the bowl!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, unsalted room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 cups dark chocolate chips
- flaky sea salt to finish
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
In a large mixing bowl cream together the butter, sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Then add in the vanilla extract and eggs. Mix until incorporated.
Add in the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt, mix everything together until fully combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop 2-3 tbsp balls and roll into the palm of your hand and place 2 inches apart on a greased baking pan.
Bake for about 10-13 minutes until edges are set and golden brown. If you don’t want to bake all at one time, place dough balls in a air tight ziplock bag and place in the freezer until ready to use.
Finish cookies with flaky sea salt and enjoy!
