Butter Chicken Burgers
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 2 tsp. garam masala
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1/2 tsp. cardamom
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
- 1/2 inch ginger, peeled and minced
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp. butter
- salt and black pepper
- 3 burger buns
- garnish with shaved cucumber and cilantro
Mint Yogurt
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp. fresh mint
- 1 tbsp. lime juice
Directions
In a dry saute pan add all the spices, garam masala, paprika, cumin, cardamom. Place over medium heat and toss together just they start to smoke and get toasty. Be careful not to walk away it will burn quickly. Once toasted remove from heat and add to a medium bowl with the ground chicken, garlic, ginger, tomato paste and bread crumbs. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix it all together with your hands until combined. Form into burger patties, I do about 3 patties for 1lb meat.
For the mint yogurt, in a small bowl combine together the yogurt, mint and lime and mix together until combined.
Then to cook off the burgers heat a skillet to medium high heat. Add a little bit of oil and place on the hot pan. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side just to get a nice crust. Add the butter and then let it finish cooking in the oven for a couple minutes just until cooked through.
Toast the buns if desired and then start to assemble. Place a little yogurt on the bottom of each one. Top with a burger patty, shaved cucumber and cilantro and enjoy!
